(and those in similarly demanding careers)
The legal profession is famously high pressure, stressful, and adversarial. Lawyers suffer from high rates of depression, anxiety, burnout, suicidal ideation, insomnia, and substance abuse. The hours are long, the environments may be tense, and there are few people in our lives who understand the demands of this career.
Our work can affect the way we show up in other areas of our lives. Workplace stress and anxiety are rarely confined just to the office. Meeting with a therapist who has experienced similar hurdles provides you the space to talk about all of the challenges of your profession, brainstorm and discover methods to resolve conflicts, and develop strategies for managing your home, work, and personal lives.
Much like law, therapy in real life is typically not how it is portrayed in the media. To reach your full potential, it is important to understand your thoughts, identify problem areas, and explore patterns as you work toward change. In counseling, we can engage in honest conversation to understand what works best for you now and moving forward. If your past is affecting your present, if you have a mountain of work and seemingly no time, or if you just need to talk to an unbiased, nonjudgemental listener, schedule a session. Let's move forward together.
